Welcome
I’m Leon Day, an Integrative Counsellor based in the beautiful coastal town of Lowestoft, Suffolk. Whether you're looking for face-to-face, Walk and Talk or online therapy, I’m here to support adults on their journey toward well-being.
Since 2010, I've proudly served the NHS as a Mental Health Nurse in various settings, gaining a wealth of experience along the way.
In 2021, I decided to embark on a new path, focusing on becoming an Integrative Counsellor. I completed my training at Waverley Abbey College and became a member of the ACC.
My commitment to you includes an enhanced DBS and registration with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). Your information is always handled with the utmost care and confidentiality.
I believe in the uniqueness of every client. My primary objective is to create a safe, confidential space where you can express yourself openly, assess your circumstances, and explore your choices. Throughout this journey, you'll feel valued, empowered, and supported as you move forward.
As an Integrative Counsellor, I tailor each session to meet your individual needs. I draw from various Humanistic models, including Person-Centred, Gestalt, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Motivational Interviewing and Trauma-Informed approaches. To enhance the counselling experience, I also incorporate creative interventions and psychoeducation when appropriate.
I have a special interest in assisting individuals facing challenges such as ADHD, ASD, alcohol and substance issues, anxiety, depression, and trauma.
Additionally, I have a deep interest in addressing spiritual matters. Together, we can explore how we ascribe meaning to our lives and how our beliefs influence the challenges we encounter.
Let's work together to rediscover hope and create a brighter future.
What to expect
I offer flexible therapy options, whether you prefer short-term or long-term support, either in person in my comfortable counselling room, Walk and Talk or through convenient online sessions. Each session lasts between 50 and 60 minutes.
First Session
In our initial session, we'll gently explore the challenges you're facing to develop a shared understanding of the factors contributing to and sustaining your difficulties. We'll also discuss the number of sessions you might need.
Therapy
We'll meet regularly, typically once a week. I believe in the humanistic approach to counselling because it honours the whole person and their natural capacity for growth and self-understanding. I see each individual as unique, with their own story, perspective, and way of experiencing the world—and I believe it’s that personal lens that shapes how we feel, think, and act.
As a Humanistic Counsellor, I offer a safe, respectful space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours without fear of judgment. I work with empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard to support you in whatever you're facing.
Together, we’ll focus on deepening your self-awareness, helping you make choices that feel right for you, and encouraging personal growth at your own pace.
Choice
Embarking on therapy is a significant decision, and it's natural to feel overwhelmed by the various therapeutic approaches available and which one might be the best fit for you.
Research consistently shows that while the specific therapeutic approach is important, the most crucial factor in successful therapy is the quality of the relationship between you and your therapist.
To help you make an informed decision, I’m delighted to offer a complimentary consultation. This gives you the opportunity to ask questions about me and my therapeutic approach, helping you decide if I’m the right therapist for you and how I can support you.
If you’d like to arrange your consultation, please don’t hesitate to reach out by completing the inquiry form below.
Your journey toward healing and growth is just a step away.
I look forward to hearing from you!
